JUST IN: Shots fired in attempted car theft in Greenhills

Shots fired in Greenhills after vehicle theft was foiled at noon today.

At least three individuals, one of them allegedly wounded, are on the run following a foiled vehicle theft in Greenhills earlier today.

It is alleged that the three people attempted to steal a vehicle at the Greenhills Circle at about 12.30pm.

The perpetrators’ vehicle was abandoned at the Homelake Station.

Van Breda went to investigate and found a man inside his vehicle. The person escaped and jumped into a silver-grey Toyota Yaris that was standing next to Van Breda’s vehicle. Van Breda then opened fire on the driver, firing off at least two shots. The perpetrators crashed into another vehicle in their attempt to escape, but kept going. The Yaris was found at Homelake Station a few minutes later. Van Breda believes he wounded one of the suspects, all of whom are still on the loose.

More information regarding the incident is not yet known.
