R’fontein schools become part of big community projects

Local schools such as Westcol College and Hoërskool Jan Viljoen will soon participate in projects being launched by E.V. W. Projects.

A number of local schools recently attended the launch, held at Silverstar, of E.V.W Projects, to help the less fortunate and uplift the spirit of the community.

E.V.W Projects is a fundraising organisation for schools, with lucky draws that include high value prizes, international holidays and more. The organisation also focuses on helping the homeless, the less fortunate and the public in need.

Their main goal is to make a difference and make children, teachers and the public excited about the day of tomorrow. On Thursday, 26 October, the organisation invited the whole community consisting of business owners, teachers, principals and other community members to attend the official launch of the company. The night was full of excitement as the guest got to attend the 80’s Rewind show at Silverstar’s Barnyard Theatre.

The owner of the organisation, Edna Walker, introduced the company and got the audience excited about helping those in need. The organisation implements fun and exciting ways to involve the community and help those in need at the same time. One of their projects consists of clothing being donated by schoolchildren. The children, class and teacher that donate the most clothing can win amazing prizes.

The organisation also offers seminars at schools. The schools all benefit from these projects, and at the same time a hungry child, a less fortunate community member and a child without shoes, gets assistance.

Local schools such as Wescol College and Hoërskool Jan Viljoen will soon participate in the projects being launched by the organisation.

One of their upcoming events will be on 22 November at the Barnyard in aid of Laerskool Protearif and Laerskool Muldersdrif, where they will raise funds to help the schools recover from the damage they suffered in the recent tornado and hailstorm.
