Biker dies after crashing into truck

A biker died after his motorcycle crashed into a truck yesterday.

A 36-year-old man was killed yesterday morning (24 October) when his motorcycle crashed into a truck on the R500 near Fochville.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said, “Paramedics arrived on the scene at 7am to find that a damaged motorbike was lying in the middle of the road. The body of the biker was lying two metres away.

“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead. The driver of the truck was assessed and found to have escaped injury.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
