• 14 October: ‘Snow White – The Ballet’ at The Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein
Joburg Ballet welcomes summer with a new classical ballet, the world premiere of Snow White – The Ballet. The opening night will be followed by a run of nine performances. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm classic fairy tale of a girl whose beauty drives an evil queen to vengeful acts, artistic director Iain MacDonald has choreographed a new full-length work with music by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. • 15 October: Guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central in Emmarentia
The event sets off 8.30am sharp. Park in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Then walk across Judith Road to their entrance. Entrance is R50 for adults; R30 for children. This festival is just the place to be if you would love to indulge in two of SA’s favourite delicacies – Pinotage and biltong!
