More than 2 000 at Color Run™ fun

Young and old and even a number of dogs made it through the colour stations just to be covered in coloured powder from head to toe at this past weekend's fun Color Run™ in Greenhills.

All the colours of the rainbow were seen in the streets of Randfontein during the Go West! 5km Color Run™ this past weekend.

The race is said to be the happiest 5km run of one’s life during which free-spirited people roam the streets of Greenhills.

Covered in all colours of the rainbow.

Community members could not wait to get started and to be covered in a variety of funky colours. Young and old and even a number of dogs made it through the colour stations just to be covered in coloured powder from head to toe. This year’s theme was ‘Superhero Tour’ and more than 2 200 people participated.

The mission of the run is to bring people together and make the world a happier, healthier place, by creating an experience that’s more about the memories you make than your mile per minute.

Covered in all colours of the rainbow.

Some interesting facts about the Color Run™ across the country:

• Runners have burnt off calories equivalent 5,96 million pizza slices; 5,61 million burgers; 8,72 million donuts and 16,35 million 355ml cold drinks

• Color Runners burned 25 000 calories in the Cape Town Color Run™!

• Color Runners have run over 24 944 832km. That is 71,6 trips to the Moon or 622 times around the world!

Participants are already looking forward to next year’s run and the Go West! teams invite everyone to come and join in the fun.

These two participants had the theme going.
