The Herald is distributed free of charge and is not for sale.

Our offices have recently been informed of certain persons selling the newspaper in some areas. Please do not believe that you have to pay for a copy since we are a free local publication.

Caxton begins the distribution of the Herald’s 20 000 copies on Tuesdays, to homes in areas such as Westonaria, Culemborg Park, Eike Park, Finsbury, Glenharvie, Greenhills, Helikon Park, Hills Haven, Hillside, Homelake, Randfontein CBD and Randgate, with bulk drops in areas such as Mohlakeng, Kocksoord, Toekomsrus, Venterspost, Randfontein Central, Hectorton, Libanon, Robin Park and Randpoort.

Every week, avid readers can expect a newspaper consisting of local government news, social pages, charitable awareness, school happenings and sport stars gracing the back page. Within the paper there is also a comprehensive property guide as well as the Auto Dealer.

Interesting facts about Herald readers (Statistics obtained from latest Roots survey):

• 29 per cent are between the ages of 25 and 34.

• 55 per cent are female, and 45 per cent are male.

• 51 per cent are married/ living with a partner, while 43 per cent are single and 6 per cent are widowed.

• 47 per cent of our readers speak Afrikaans at home, 27 per cent speak English and 15 per cent speak Zulu.

• 32 per cent of households fall in the Living Standards Measure (LSM) 7 category and 25 per cent in the LSM 9 category.

• The average household income is R18 581 pm.

• 42 per cent of our readers are working full-time out of home, while 18 per cent are unemployed

• 30 per cent of our readers have matriculated
