One transported to hospital after morning crash

Young woman transported to hospital following morning crash at Homelake intersection.

One person was transported to hospital after two vehicles collided at an intersection in Homelake earlier this morning.

The accident took place at about 7.10am at the intersection of Kenneth Road and Homestead Avenue.

Lukas Jansen van Vuuren, from CPF Sector 4, who reacted to the accident.

According to QRS paramedics on scene, the 20-year-old female victim sustained moderate injuries. Another woman was treated for shock.

According to Andre Alberts, 45, he and his wife, 43 were taking their daughter to a studying institute when the accident happened.

Alberts emotionally told the Herald on scene, “My daughter’s neck and knees were injured. An ambulance took her to Leratong Hospital.”

Lukas Jansen van Vuuren, a member of the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum received information about the accident and immediately informed the Help24 Towing Service with whom they work hand-in-hand.

Another day, another accident.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known as yet, but the Randfontein Traffic Police Department was on scene and is investigating the matter.
