Three arrested for targeting major retail store

At least three thieves were caught in one day for targeting a multinational retail company in Westonaria.

A number of suspects are expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon after being found in possession of suspected stolen property. The arrests were made before 9am on Friday, 7 July.

The goods found in their possession belong to a multinational retail company in the area.

Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police spokesperson explained, “Two police officers, Constables Rudzani Mavhungu and Mapule Mthiyane were busy opening a case docket of a business burglary at the retail store on Davies Street in Westonaria.

“While they were busy with the docket, the officers received information from an anonymous source about men selling the retail store’s goods at a taxi rank next to a shopping centre.

“After being arrested, the suspects, aged between 22 and 29, took the officers to a 32-year-old who had asked them to sell the goods. He was arrested for business burglary.
