R6 000 of dagga seized

A suspect will appear in the Westonaria Magistrates' Court soon after being caught with dagga to the value of R6 000.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Simunye for being in possession of dagga to the value of R6 000.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the man was arrested on Monday, 24 April.

While Constables Magoro and Nyawo from the Bekkersdal Police were conducting routine crime-prevention duties on the R12 in Simunye Extension 3 they came across a suspicious-looking male and once searched, they found him in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R6 000.

“The suspect is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon,” Ernst said.
