#FedUpFriday: #AntiZumaMarches – What R’fontein thinks

'The time has come for Zuma to resign'

In light of today’s #AntiZumaMarches across the country, the Herald asked Randfontein’s residents what they think of the marches, Zuma and the current state of our country.

We spoke to various Randfontein residents and all of them had one thing in common – no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.

Chris Naudé thinks the #AntiZumaMarches are a good idea but doesn’t think they’re enough to get Zuma to step down.

Many of the residents the Herald spoke to were reluctant to talk about their politics on camera.

However, Chris Naudé said he understands why the marches are necessary and supports the idea but thinks they will not be enough to get Zuma to give up power. He feels Zuma has too many of the right people on his side.

A younger resident, Robert Davis, said he fully supports the marches because he’s tired of corruption in the country.

He added that Zuma is not setting a good example for any of his citizens and should therefore step down.

Owen Ramachi feels enough is enough – the president must step down.

“The time has come for Zuma to resign. Enough is enough,” is what Owen Ramachi said.

The general consensus of the residents the Herald spoke to is that the marches are a good idea. They agree that Zuma should step down but think that it remains to be seen whether marching about the issue sends a strong enough message to the President.
