It’s an unfortunate fact and one that few residents want to face, but crime is one of the defining characteristics of both Randfontein and Westonaria.

While it may seem that there is not much that ordinary citizens can do about crime when even the police are fighting an apparent uphill battle, there are those who have vowed to take the streets back from the criminals.

The Randfontein Community Policing Forum has seen their numbers grow as people are getting tired of living like prisoners in their own homes.
