Illegal firearms recovered by police

Police arrest three people in possession of illegal firearms in Aureus.

Three illegal firearms were recovered by police in the Aureus area recently.

The weapons were discovered when members of the Randfontein Visible Police and Trio Task Team responded swiftly to information received regarding suspects with firearms.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police’s spokesperson, said they managed to arrest three suspects and confiscated three firearms near a local liquor store.

The Randfontein Police station commander, Brigadier Jacob Manamela, applauded the members for their rapid response, saying, “The quick reaction of the members ensured that a crime was prevented and innocent lives saved”.
