Don’t get caught in a scam

There are only two women who can book your classified adverts at the Herald.

After scammers recently surfaced using the Herald’s name to get money from job seekers, the Herald has decided to speak out.

The said scammers targeted job seekers in the classifieds section of the paper, and used the names of the Herald’s two receptionists to get what they wanted.

The Herald would like to formally state that Bellah and Thandi Motlashuping are the only two representatives of the Herald who deal with classifieds adverts.

Both Bellah and Thandi deal with walk-in residents who would like to report stories, seek information as well as book adverts. They are the first voice you hear when you call in to the Herald’s offices.

Bellah and Thandi Motlashuping are the only women in charge of booking classified adverts.

The pair, unlike the scammers, will not ask for money in return for a job — they simply book adverts on behalf of business owners, sellers, buyers and job seekers.

For any information on booking classified adverts, Bellah and Thandi can be contacted on 011 693 3671.

Bellah Motlashuping can always be found behind the reception desk answering phones.

Should anyone have fallen victim to the scammers, or suspect they’re being scammed, they should contact the same number.
