Driver dies, passenger critical after car rolls in Westonaria.
A man was killed and a 19-year-old woman is in a critical condition after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled and collided with a tree on Hillshaven Road in Westonaria in the early hours of Sunday morning (5 March).
Annine Dormehl, ER24 spokesperson said the Jaws of Life had to be used to free the woman from the car before she was airlifted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto.
“At the time of their arrival, ER24 paramedics found the male driver, believed to be in his late 30s, dead on the scene. It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle around a sharp bend. The vehicle then went down an embankment and rolled a few times before it collided with a tree.”
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
