Be alert: 14 incidents of crime reported in four days

EPR Security said 14 incidents of crime were reported in just four days.

EPR Security has been ridding the streets of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) of crime, one day at a time.

The security company has released its crime statistics for the week from Monday, 6 January to Thursday, 9 January. In one of the incidents in that period, the company’s Red Eye Patrol camera picked up a suspect who was cutting fence and CCTV wires in the Randfontein Central Business District (CBD).

Monday, 6 February

• Randfontein:

Housebreaking – Hillside Agricultural Holdings (AH) (panic button callout)

Theft – Brandvlei AH (panic button callout)

Trespassing – Toyota Street, Aureus (panic button callout, one suspect arrested)

• Westonaria:

Dog poisoning – Tulbachkloof, Westonaria

Tuesday, 7 February

• Randfontein:

Property found – Maluit Street, Finsbury (panic button callout)

Civil case – Middelvlei AH (panic button callout, purchase agreement gone wrong)

• Westonaria:

Break-in – Mine Street, Libanon (phone-in callout, window damaged)

Break-in – Johnstone Street, Westonaria (phone-in callout, window broken)

Wednesday, 8 February

• Randfontein

Suspecious vehicle – Loumarina AH (phone-in callout)

Damage to property – Lazaar Avenue, Randgate (phone-in callout, wall damaged)

Damage to property – Boerperd Street, Greenhills (phone-in callout, lock and gate damaged)

• Westonaria

Theft – McGregor Street, Westonaria (phone-in callout, one suspect arrested)

Thursday, 9 February

• Randfontein

Damage to property – Maugham Street, Randfontein CBD (fence and CCTV wires cut – Red Eye Patrol)

Attempted theft – Greenhills Avenue, Greenhills (panic button callout, damage to vehicle’s steering wheel)
