Woman robbed while counting money at home

58-year-old woman robbed while counting money at her Randfontein home.

The Bekkersdal Police have launched a manhunt for two men who robbed a 58-year-old woman in Simunye.

The incident took place in early December, however, the identikit has only recently been finalised.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the victim was allegedly at home counting money with other members of her stokvel group when they were confronted by two suspects.

One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim and the other took the money she was counting. The suspects took cellphones as well before fleeing the scene.

“A case of house robbery was registered and is under investigation,” Lefakane said.

The Bekkersdal Police are urging anyone who can provide them with more information about the incident to contact them.
