Malerato Primary wins Keep it Clean Competition

Deputy Director-General Vuyani Mpofu from the GDE delivered a beautiful message, in which he said, " Cleanliness is next to Godliness".

On Monday, 5 December, Malerato Primary School received a trophy and prize money from Sulabh (Centre for Action Sociology) after winning the Keep it Clean Competition 2016.

At this exciting Awards Ceremony, the guest speakers were Vuyani Mpofu (Deputy Director-General of the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE)), and representatives of Sanlam, Sulabh, the School Management team and the Maintenance Managers.

The learners, who stood in front of the school, proudly wore their white Club I’m Possible Project T- shirts. One of them, Machaba Orarile, is the president of this Club. Georgina van Wyk, Malerato’s principal, conducted the opening and welcoming at the awards ceremony,while Ida Mohlokwane (Malerato’s deputy principal), introduced the guests. The introduction to the Keep it Clean competition was done by Noluthando Tungande from Sulabh.

Mpofu delivered a beautiful message, in which he said, ” Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. He also announced the winner, and handed over the trophy.

Mpofu and Noluthando Tungande from Sulabh presented the cheque to the school.

The message about the importance of keeping clean and being inspired to carry on doing so was delivered by Mfundo Hlatshwayo, the PJ Simelane Club Chairman.

The learners were super-surprised and could not contain their excitement and joy at winning the competition.
