R’fontein ready to rock and bowl

Randfontein Bowling Club among those in the hunt for the Saturday League title on 10 December.

The Randfontein Bowling Club recently competed in their second match of the regional Saturday League.

This league kicked off on 12 November and consists of five games over a period of five weeks. Every Saturday four different divisions compete against one another in hopes of walking away as the winner on 10 December during the final match.

These divisions include members from the Randfontein, Krugersdorp, Honeydew, Ruimsig, Witpoortjie, Discovery and Noordheuwel bowling clubs.

According to Vera Pretorius, president of the Randfontein Bowling Club, the ball is in anyone’s court, figuratively speaking.

“It is too early to predict anything as we still have three matches ahead of us. A lot of things can happen.”

The next round will take place on Saturday 26 November. Divisions 1 and 4 will compete in Witpoortjie, Division 2 will compete in Randfontein and Division 3 will compete in Honeydew.

“The players have a very positive state of mind. We are all very excited about every Saturday’s match,” she concluded.

After the final match in December, they will be ready to rock and bowl again on 28 January 2017.
