Aureus celebrates Heritage Day in style

Women connected, shared stories and discussed issues on Heritage Day in Aureus.

Heritage Day on Saturday, 24 September was celebrated in style during the first ever annual She-Connect event hosted by 1 000 Amazing Events.

During this event, each guest had the opportunity to take a walk down a red carpet at the Da’Side Club in Aureus. The day was filled with good food, nice drinks, live band performances, motivational speeches, networking sessions and fashion shows.

“Before celebrating women’s heritage, we celebrate women with power. We want to show women they have power and can’t give up,” Tshegofatso Maimane, the She-Connect ambassador said.

Women face many different challenges in their daily lives, and sometimes they don’t know how to tackle them, or where to go for help. Often those challenges would be easy to resolve if people knew what to do or where to go. Therefore, the purpose of this event is for women to connect, share good stories and discuss real issues that could build, motivate, and empower them.

“This event is about sharing, giving, loving, uniting – it’s about Ubuntu. We want to encourage women to embrace their problems and never lose hope,” said Tshegofatso.

Guidance and information concerning many household issues were given.

Tshegofatso Maimane, She-Connect ambassador and Keorapetse Telekelo, She-Connect presenter, were both excited to be hosting this event.

As She-Connect aims to give dignity to less fortunate schoolgirls, a portion of the funds they raised will be donated in the spirit of giving to the Help a Girl Go to School Campaign, which collects and distributes sanitary towels to girls in need.

“We would like to thank all our guests for their support – it resulted in a successful event,” Tshegofatso concluded.

Any member of the public who is interested in donating sanitary towels to this campaign can contact Portia at 072 640 2663 or info@1000amazingevents.co.za.
