Dance studio steps up

It went well for Snap Back Studios from Greenhills in two recent competitions.

Recently, Snap Back Studios participated in two competitions and thrived. Although they started small, they are growing day by day.

During the recent Roodepoort Dance Festival that took place at the Roodepoort Civic Theatre from 5 to 17 September, all 14 crews and individual dancers achieved podium places while four dancers managed to stun the judges and receive special awards.

These dancers include the following:

• Bianca Redelinghuys: Runner-up for the dance-off section.

• Caitlin Fitzpatrick: Runner-up for all-rounder status in the open section.

Elri Bosman: Runner-up for all-rounder status for nine years and U/11.

• Gizelle van Rooyen: Winner of all-rounder status for nine years and U/11.

Eileen Levey, founder of Snap Back Studios and her business partner, Madelien Gersback, are proud of their dancers and expect great things from them in future.

During the SA Hip-Hop Championships that took place at Allen Glen High School in Roodepoort, both crews received podium places. The junior crew, Cream, danced their way to the top when they landed first place in the amateur division.

After giving their best, the senior crew, Chivalry, received the title of runner-up in the amateur division.

Other competitors came from dance studios in Klerkdorp, Pretoria, Roodepoort and Fourways.

During March 2017, these crews will compete on a regional level in Cape Town, in hopes of competing on international level in Las Vegas in the US.
