Kids welcome Spring in fashion style

Bright clothing and balloons were the order of the day as a local kids care centre held a fashion competition on Spring Day.

Horeb Kidz Care Centre in the CBD welcomed Spring by hosting a fun fashion competition for the toddlers.

Antonette Swanepoel, Horeb Kidz teacher and Freda Mogale, the principal, came up with the initiative and asked the parents to dress their children in their favourite cheerful, brightly coloured outfits for the day.

Winners of the 5-year-old boys' category: Delight Siporo, Abdula Sahim, Koketso Pharumele and Katlego Mohakana.

This was to celebrate the changing of season with the children and to transform the day into a Spring extravaganza. As a result, the entire playground was filled with laughter, bright clothing and balloons, and every child had the opportunity to enjoy the new season’s crisp air and sunshine.

In each age group, the children whose outfits best linked to the theme received a prize and the title of ‘Most Cheerful’. Four boys and four girls from each group were chosen as the winners. One boy and one girl were chosen as the overall winners as well.

Although this was their first Spring Day, Freda said she is looking forward to hosting this jolly event every year, as it was a huge success.
