Don’t forget to attend the Grace Race

If you are fond of cycling or running, bring the whole family for an unforgettable experience

It is all systems go for the AGS Groen Weivelde Grace Race on Saturday, 27 August at the Greenhills Stadium.

“The Grace Race is solely to thank God for His endless mercy and to make people aware of it,” said Enrico van Aswegen, member of the executive board of AGS Groen Weivelde.

The event will feature a 21km cycle race, a 5km fun run and a kid’s race for the young ones. At 8am the event will be launched with prayer and the cycle race will start at 8.30am. The participants will cycle from the Greenhills Stadium, along North Way Road to the Tarlton crossing and back to the stadium.

The fun run, which will take place around and near the stadium, will start at 8.45am. The kid’s race and games will take place inside the stadium, starting at about 9am.

During the cycle race and the Fun run there will be water points along the route for the participants, made possible by various sponsors. On this day there will be stalls selling various kinds of foods for the community to enjoy before and after each race.

At 11am there will be a prize-giving for the winners of each category and everyone can grab a bite and enjoy themselves.

“So far we’ve received about 60 online entries and we hope this awareness will grow every year,” Enrico concluded.

Registration is still open (online or at the stadium) until each race kicks off on Saturday morning.
