Fun colour run around the corner

Mark your diaries for the feel-good, happy and colorful event of the year.

The Color Run and the GoWest! Heritage Month Festival are teaming up to turn Randfontein into a kaleidoscope of colour next month – for the second year running.

The GoWest! Heritage Month can be described as an unforgettable four-week long experience covering the GoWest! Cultural Day (a gathering of different cultures and traditions), the Clap & Tap Concert, the Music Festival, and the internationally acclaimed largest event series in the world – The Color Run™.

This feel-good, happy, colourful event will take place at the Greenhills Stadium on 17 September.

During the run, ‘Color Runners’ of all shapes and sizes will happily go from wearing spotless white clothing to being covered in vivid colours. At each kilometre mark, a different colour of powder fills the air and covers the participants, creating a spectacular spectrum of colour. When the participants reach the finish line, the colour festival kicks off and the air is filled with millions of vivid colour combinations as each participant gets in on the colour throwing fun as well.

Trevor Latimer, the national event coordinator, said The Color Run™ can hardly wait to get back to Randfontein, as 2015 was such an resounding success. “Our partnership with Go West!, amazing Color Stations, and a Finish Festival that’s going to leave every single Color Runner painted all shades of extraordinary, means that Randfontein had better tie those takkies tight for the most amazing five kilometres of their lives,” he said.

The Color Run™ celebrates health, happiness, individuality and giving back. Charity and school fundraising form a big part of the event as well. You can register your own school or charity on the Fun Raiser programme and raise money for every ticket sold under your unique Fun Raiser code.
