JUST IN: Municipality offline from Tuesday

Official: We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the public.

The Randfontein Local Municipality financial systems will be offline from Tuesday 2 August until Friday 5 August.

According to Caroline Setsiba, municipal official, the systems will be off as a result of the merge of the Randfontein and Westonaria Local Municipalities.

“We are upgrading the system while we are merging the two municipalities to form the new Rand West City Local Municipality,” Caroline said. Those who wish to pay their municipal bills can still do so; however, they will only receive manual receipts.

Prepaid electricity systems will be online.

We advise customers to use third-party pay points to pay bills.

“No resources will be cut off as residents who don’t pay only receive notices on 7 August. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the public.”
