Ambulance Services relocated

A campaign was held to inform residents of relocation.

The Ambulance Services have relocated from the Emergency Services (Fire Department) near Toekomsrus to the Mohlakeng MOU (Medical Obstetric Unit) Clinic in Mohlakeng.

Benny Mohlakeng, Chief of the Randfontein Fire Department came up with the initiative of hosting a campaign to inform the community about the relocation of the Ambulance Services.

Mohlakeng teamed up with the Randfontein Emergency Services, the Public Safety Department of the West Rand District Municipality, the Public Information Education and Relations (PIER) Department, the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), Eskom, the Department of Water Affairs, Randfontein’s Disaster Management Department and the Randfontein and Krugersdorp Traffic Departments to inform the community of the relocation.

On Thursday 21 July, these organisations formed a convoy and left from the West Rand District Municipality, en route to Toekomsrus and Mohlakeng. They distributed pamphlets in an attempt to inform all residents about the new location of the Ambulance Services.

These organisations plan to take on their second convoy as soon as possible to engage more residents. This campaign will be a repeat of the first one, but will take place throughout the Finsburry, Kocksoord, Randgate and Greenhills areas.

Mohlakeng would like to urge the residents of Randfontein to only use the emergency numbers given on the pamphlet as these are the only numbers linked directly to the Ambulance Services.

If you experience any emergencies, feel free to contact the following numbers:
• (011) 951 3000 (using a cellphone).
• 107 (using a landline).
