International Kissing Day: Grab someone for a smooch

Can you beat the kissing world record today?

Albert Einstein said, “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”

Today is International Kissing Day. The day originated from the United Kingdom (UK) but has been embraced worldwide and takes place annually on 6 July.

There are many meanings behind the amorous action – it can range between a first kiss, a formal kiss, a passionate kiss, finalising vows or a farewell kiss..

Kissing Day aims to make the world appreciate the kiss itself. No conventions, social norms, hidden agendas, just a kiss. Anyone can partake in this day by simply kissing someone else for the sake of the kiss, and not for the person.

The current record holders for the longest kiss is Thai couple Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat. They have been the record holders since February, 2013. They kissed for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds. What a kiss!

Why not try to beat this record? Kiss today for the sake of kissing. Whether it be your husband, wife, parents, children, friends or pets. Why stop there? What about the postman, the local butcher or your real estate estate agent? Go big!
