Alleged sibling rivalry turns into murder

The pair reportedly had a long history of fighting.

A dispute between two middle-aged people believed to be siblings turned into murder in Elandsvlei last weekend.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, a man aged 66, and a woman aged 58 had a heated argument on Sunday (26 June). The pair reportedly had a long history of fighting with each other.

The scuffle turned ugly when the woman allegedly stabbed the man in the chest. He was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

The female suspect was arrested and appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday (27 June).
