Young man arrested for possession of drugs

The suspect was searched and was found with a plastic bag full of loose tablets.

The Bekkersdal Police arrested a young man for being in possession of drugs.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested at about 9.30am on Wednesday, 25 May by members of the Flying Squad.

“They received information of a man who was seen selling drugs in Kopanang Street, Simunye. They proceeded to the location and found a man fitting the description they were given,” said Seargent Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson.

The suspect was searched and was found with a plastic bag full of loose tablets presumed to be drugs. The suspect was arrested and will be charged with being in the possession of drugs.

He is expected in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
