Pupils should stop begging at traffic lights

Students should be taught that nothing comes from nothing .

I would like to comment on the fact that students are being encouraged to beg at robots for school tours, matric dance dresses etc.

We live in an age where almost every main street corner has a beggar of some sort, causing enough stress to drivers passing by due to the risk of crime. Many choose to stand there due to bad circumstances or choices that have been made in their lives.

In this economic climate work is scarce, leaving many no choice, but this is an adult’s choice. Begging by children should be illegal; society and government should be taking care of them.

Students should be taught that nothing comes from nothing and the sooner they learn they should not expect anything without lifting a finger, the better they will cope later on in their lives.

Let them find a project to work on and sell, or a service to offer the public so that they can learn to earn their keep.

This way I believe the resourcefulness of the youth can possibly stimulate the economy so everybody will win in the long run.

Yours sincerely.
