Two killed as car crashes into tree

Westonaria Police: We found a white Toyota Hilux bakkie that collided with a tree.

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated after two men died when the bakkie they were travelling in crashed into a tree along Cardoville Road in Kalbasfontein, just outside Westonaria recently.

It is said that the accident took place at around at about 6am last Monday.

“Westonaria Police members responded to a call early that morning informing them of the accident.

On their arrival at the scene, they found a white Toyota Hilux had collided with a tree. Both occupants were in the front seat of the vehicle.

“The two men were declared dead on the scene by emergency service personnel. The cause of the accident is not yet known,” said Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu, Westonaria Police spokesperson.

Witnesses to this accident are requested to contact the Westonaria Police on 011 278 5300.
