Spouse killed on Friday the 13th

Wife arrested in connection to husband's death.

The West Rand Cluster Police previously known as the Krugersdorp Cluster Police were out in full force during mid-April.

From 10 to 17 April, the 13 police stations within the West Rand Cluster which includes Randfontein made 411 arrests. The arrests ranged all the way from Muldersdrift to Wedela.

A woman from Randfontein also was arrested following a domestic violence incident where her spouse was killed. According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the incident took place on Friday, 13 April on a small holding in between Randfontein and Westonaria.

Further from home in separate incidents, six suspects were arrested in Carletonville and tyres worth R1 million was recovered by the Carletonville Police.

“The cargo allegedly was taken during a truck hijacking in Harrismith in the Free State. One of the suspects also was in possession of a stolen copper cable and an unlicensed firearm,” Ernst explained.

Kagiso had three arrests for the kidnapping of a foreign national. “The brother of the victim reported a case and the same evening the Kagiso Police were able to arrest the suspects.”

The other arrests made in the cluster was for house and armed robbery; fraud; rape; shoplifting; theft; housebreaking; possession of dangerous weapons; possession of stolen property and possession of drugs. A number of suspects also were arrested for trespassing, contraventions of the liquor act and traffic offences.

A congratulations was in order and the West Rand Cluster Commander, Major General Anna Mateisi obliged. She commended the officers in the cluster for their commitment towards law enforcement and their efforts in bringing perpetrators in the cluster to book.
