Entries open for 947 Cycle Challenge

Now in its 20th year, the not-to-be-missed 947 Cycle Challenge returns.

On Sunday 20th November the 947 Cycle Challenge will celebrate the 20th edition of this iconic Joburg event.

947 will once again shut down some of the busiest roads to give cyclists of all abilities the chance to take over the city, on two wheels.

It’s a tough route but the cyclists who take up the challenge are tougher. Beyond the physical challenge, many will be riding for a purpose and making a difference to others through their ride.

Last year, over R15 million was raised for charities thanks to Ride for a Purpose and we know that participants will once again dig deep to celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary.

Whether a cyclist rides to raise funds for a charity, in memory of a loved one, to support a good cause or to show that a disability is no impairment to living an active life, the idea is to add another dimension to the event, beyond the physical challenge.

So enter the Cycle Challenge now to be part of an unmissable event and contribute to a positive change in South Africa.

Entries are now open for the 947 Cycle Challenge, which is not only the biggest cycling event in Joburg but also second largest mass participation timed cycling event in the world.

The iconic event, which attracts over 30 000 cyclists each year, will start and finish at Riversands Commercial Park.
