Driver in lucky escape after four-car crash

Paramedics: Man 'lucky' to escape serious injury after four-vehicle crash.

A man in his 40s is considered ‘lucky’ after he sustained minor injuries only in a four vehicle collision on the R28/N12 split in Westonaria on Wednesday morning.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson explained that ER24 paramedics, along with metro services, arrived on scene and found that a taxi and three light motor vehicles had collided. The vehicles all were found parked on the side of the road after the impact.

On assessment, paramedics found that only one man in his 40s had sustained minor injuries.

Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were found on the scene,” Meiring said.

Paramedics then treated the man and thereafter transported him to Carletonville Hospital for further treatment. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
