Armed robbers hit retail store again

The South African Police Service calls on the help of the community members to assist them with information.

Armed robbers have struck again at a local retail store in Union Street, Randgate, making off with a substantial amount of money and cellphones, Randfontein Police said.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed the incident took place at around 9.15am on Easter Monday.

“It is alleged by a 28-year-old employee that she was opening the store when she was approached by three unknown male suspects. They were armed.

“The suspects allegedly took a substantial amount of money and cellular telephones as well as other cellular devices before they left the store. No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained during the crime.”

The South African Police Service calls on the help of the community members to assist them with information.
