Taxi rolls injuring six

ER24: The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.

Six patients were transported by ambulances to various hospitals in Carletonville after a taxi rolled on the R500 near Fochville late last week.

“When the paramedics arrived on the scene they found a wrecked taxi on the side of the road. Occupants from the taxi were found seated next to the vehicle.

It is understood that the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll multiple times.

“On assessment, paramedics found that six of the nine occupants were injured in the incident, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to various hospitals in Carletonville for further treatment,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
