Rodora family massacre: School’s message to the family

School releases a statement after learning of brutal murder of their Grade 3 pupil Kayla Meyer.

The school that nine-year-old Kayla Meyer used to attend, released a statement of condolences on their Facebook page.

Kayla is one of the victims of the Rodora family massacre.

Kayla’s mother Marietjie, her was-to-be step-father Kennith McCormack and her step-grandfather, Monty McCormack died in the attack between 9 and 10 March at their home in Rodora, Doornfontein.

Laerskool Randfontein (Ram) conveyed the following message on their Facebook page: “It is with absolute sadness and shock that we learn of the death of one of our Grade 3 pupils, Kayla Meyer …

We pray for our Father’s comfort for her family and loved ones. May He carry you and hold you tightly during this difficult time.”

The school’s flag subsequently hung at half-mast in honour and remembrance of Kayla.
