Businessman survives heavy gunfire on R28

Police: The assailants took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money.

A 36-year-old businessman travelling on Main Reef Road was ambushed at the Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse intersection on Saturday in what is believed to have been an armed robbery.

The incident took place at around 1.30pm.

According to Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Cluster spokesperson, “It is alleged two vehicles – a brown Volkswagen sedan and an unknown black sedan – closed in on the victim’s Range Rover.

The assailants fired numerous shots at the victim.

“The victim was able to escape with minor scratches but his attackers allegedly took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of money from his vehicle. The suspects are unknown and a case of armed robbery was opened.”
