Trudy’s Nest open despite major loss

Trudy's Nest invites elderly, less fortunate members of the community to join the club.

Trudy’s Nest recently suffered the loss of one of their members, Colin Dickens, but despite the loss, they reopened for 2016 and are ready for its challenges.

The club opened on Tuesday 12 January. Founder Trudy Haywood said, “Our members are still talking about Colin but we will do so for a long time.”

As a result of the loss, there have been some changes in the organisation’s management.

Bianca Julius will serve as the administrator, Kirsten Leslie is the club’s aspiring physiotherapist and Desmond Dickson will serve as the organisation’s secretary.

Trudy invites elderly members of the community (over 60) who are underprivileged to join the club. The club serves a meal twice a week and food parcels are given out. Members of Trudy’s Nest are well looked after by the club.

Trudy would appreciate if any businesses in Randfontein would be willing to partner with the charity organisation to sponsor them in any way.
