Tuck shop owner threatened with knife, robbed

Police: The victim was offloading stock when he was grabbed by four men.

A 26-year-old tuck shop owner was attacked at his shop by four men at about 10.30am recently.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the incident took place on Friday, 8 January in Dragon Street, Mohlakeng.

It is alleged the victim was offloading stock at a tuck shop when he was grabbed by four unknown men. He was then forced into his vehicle by the suspects.

“He was allegedly threatened with a knife and the suspects then searched him.”

The suspects robbed him of a substantial amount of money, a cellphone and a few cartons of cigarettes. The suspects then slashed the wheels of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries in the process.
