Underprivileged children get a treat

Organiser: I would like now is more sponsors so that we can give more to the children.

A big-hearted businesswoman in Randfontein gave underprivileged children in Toekomsrus a treat just before Christmas.

The event took place on Sunday 13 December where children from various soup kitchens in Toekomsrus were treated with a Christmas party. They received packets with all sorts of goodies.

Gerty Pietersen, who is a hairdresser in Randfontein, got donations from her clients for the project. She says she could not have done it without them.

I would also like to thank the St Joseph Anglican Church and Reverend Debbie for the role they played in the event,” said Gerty.

This will be the second year Gerty has had the initiative running and she plans to do many more in future.

“The only thing I would like now is more sponsors so that we can give more to the children,” she said.
