Wawa fronts activism against women and child abuse

Wawa: We managed to reach thousands of people today.

Women Against Women Abuse (Wawa) kicked off their 16 days of activism against women and child abuse in Toekomsrus on Wednesday before last.

Both staff and volunteers took to the streets of Toekomsrus that day together with the Randfontein Police crime prevention unit along with the help of Captain Leon Williams and his squad.

They even had a drum band where the residents of Toekomsrus could hear the drumming from as early as 6am.

Wawa even went all the way to Mohlakeng extensions 7 and 11 and further to the Zenzele informal settlement to make residents aware of this 16 day activism campaign and Wawa’s services they offer.

We managed to reach thousands of people today and I have to give credit to the Wawa crew today because we are one of the front runners in the greater Randfontein area, addressing such sensitive issues in Toekomsrus and the surrounding areas.

“Wawa is there for everyone and our motto is: ‘Doing good is good for all our communities’,” said Enrico Bhana, Men and Boy’s coordinator from Wawa.
