Bekkersdal Girl Guides open their hearts

The experience made the girls appreciate their parents more.

Bekkersdal Girl Guides on Saturday visited the Are Ageng Women Against Women Abuse Shelter in the area as part of their ‘Reaching Out Clause’.

There the girls opened their hearts by handing over second-hand clothes.

The girls also were given an explanation what Women Against Women Abuse (Wawa) stands for while residents at the shelter shared some of their touching stories on how they ended up there.

Bekkersdal Girl Guides were then taken on a tour around the house which they enjoyed so much that they asked if they could sleep over. This was clearly due to the warmth and homeliness of the shelter.

At the end of the day, the experience made the Bekkersdal Girl Guides appreciate their parents more. They also learned that another person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
