Major Christmas event announced on the West Rand

On Saturday 28 November, the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens will be transformed with thousands of candles and early Christmas spirit when The Bala Brothers perform.
Gates for the evening performance will open at 3pm and the concert will commence once the sun has set over the idyllic gardens.
The Bala Brothers will be wrapping up a successful 2015 at the Gardens, back in South Africa after a US tour that will see the band performing a number of shows across the country.
The Bala Brothers performed on PBS national broadcaster earlier in the year and has seen the performance viewed by over 60 million new fans.
In March 2015, the talented trio from East London, released their third album, self titled which included the groups take on ‘Circle of Life’ from Elton John, ‘Under African Skies’ from Paul Simon and ‘Pata Pata’ from Miriam Makeba.
The Bala Brothers are three gifted South African brothers, lifted out of poverty through their sheer musical talent, and already stars in their own country, promise to become one of the most exciting new vocal trios to take the world stage.
The Bala Brothers’ journey from the dusty streets of the Kwa-Nobuhle township to a stadium-rocking performance at the 2013 Nelson Mandela Memorial Concert in Cape Town saw each develop his own career and vocal style. Performing as a trio, their focus turns back to a major musical influence they all share, their membership in South Africa’s famous Drakensberg Boys Choir.
Combined, the Bala Brothers already experienced voices produce an authentic and joyful sound that transcends musical categories, in a wide range of repertoire, all grounded in their extraordinary African experience.
Tickets prices for the Carols by Candlelight show are available before concert day via www.plankton.mobi for R50 per adult and on the day from the entrance for R100 per adult. Children under the age of 13 enter for free.
Bring a toy, clothes, stationary with you and drop it off in one of the Christmas Boxes, Hilltop Live & Old Mutual Music in the Gardens will get it into the hands of families this December.
