R’fontein man targets Krugersdorp primary school

It is believed the theft could be drug related.

A man, allegedly from Randfontein, stole gate motors from a Krugersdorp primary school twice in the same week.

Laerskool Krugersdorp-Noord was targeted on Tuesday (20 October) and then again on Saturday (24 October).

The stolen gate motors are valued at R10 500. One of the incidents was caught on CCTV footage.

According to Marizka Coetzer, journalist at the Herald‘s sister newspaper the Krugersdorp News, “The News met with the school. They confirmed the identity of one of the suspects and emphasised that a criminal case had been opened, contradicting rumours on a Facebook page that the perpetrators would be let off the hook.

The school assured the News they are not backing down and will proceed with the case. It is believed the theft could be drug related as the perpetrators allegedly are drug users.”

It was brought to the Herald‘s attention through Facebook that the suspect in the footage is from Greenhills and is infamous in Randfontein.
