Residents urged to vote in the local elections

'Quite a number of people have not registered as voters and some have also not re-registered with the IEC'

Denis Mongope, spokesperson for ANC ward 4, wants to applaud the Municipal Demarcation Board’s work on behalf of the people of Randgate.

As the country prepares for the local government elections in 2016 the work done by the Municipal Demarcation Board in their thorough consultative processes on the ward delimitation and the presentation of draft wards to various structures of the community including Municipalities were commended by Mojahi.

The ANC branch in ward 4 is currently in a process of visiting houses and families in the vicinity of Randgate, and in other areas within ward 4.

Mangope said, “We have learned with great dismay that quite a number of people have not registered as voters and some have also not re-registered with the IEC.”

“We call upon all residents who have been staying in the Greenhills Gardens, Jairah Flats and Randgate to register with the IEC at the Randfontein Local Municipality from Monday to Friday. The IEC is always open for registration and de-registrations. In other words a change of your registration from your previous residence to the current address.”

The ANC in the ward will also be having voter registration awareness on Saturday the 19 September. There will be sport activities and a cultural dance festival on plot 74.
