BREAKING: Second bullying video emerges
Third school violence incident in the last two weeks.
Laerskool Randfontein (Ram) has recently been in the news after a video of two pupils fighting was leaked on YouTube.
In the video various pupils stood by and egged the fight on. One of the pupils in the fight seemed to have been verbally targeted by a large group of learners – they laughed at and mocked him, encouraging the pupil he was in the fight with to the victim even more.
A second video has now emerged of the fight.

The fight has been widely been referred to as a case of bullying.

One pupil who is believed to be the one who took the initial video kept telling the crowd of learners not to the victim.
This incident would make for the third incident of violence at schools in Randfontein over the last two weeks however, the other incidents were cases where teachers acted violently towards their learners.
The principal of the school, Leon Haupt has since issued a statement on the school’s Facebook confirming the incident. He said all the pupils involved in the fight have been identified and disciplinary action will be taken against them.
He assured parents that the school makes their children’s safety their first priority and that steps will be taken against those who violate that mandate.
Even though the principal has responded to this shocking incident, large amounts of people have raised concerns about the school management on social media.
