UPDATE: Rubbish dump becomes playground

Municipality gives reasons.

Kgabane Madiehe, spokesperson for the Westonaria Local Municipality has responded to the article “Rubbish dump becomes a playground”.

“Normally Council clean all the areas regularly. It was only in the past week the municipality could not collect regularly as it should be. The reason being that the roll-on truck is at the mechanic to be fixed.”

He continued, “The municipality promise residents from Glenharvie who are affected in that area the container and its surroundings will be cleaned as soon as the roll-on truck is available.

“The municipality’s performance on waste management has improved generally and evidence is there for everyone to see as proof.”
