Three killed in two-car crash

Collision between two cars leaves three dead, three injured near Carletonville.

Three people were killed and three others injured after two light motor vehicles collided on the R501 outside Carletonville on Tuesday.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, “Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find both wrecked vehicles lying overturned on the side of the road.

“On assessment, paramedics found the bodies of two men and a woman lying roughly 15 metres away from their vehicle. Unfortunately all three patients sustained multiple fatal injuries when they were ejected from the vehicle.

“On assessment of the occupants of the second vehicle, paramedics found that all three occupants had sustained moderate injuries.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Carletonville hospital for further medical treatment.”

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
