Five injured as car rolls

'Occupants were found lying around the scene.'

Five men were injured, two of them critically, when their vehicle rolled on the R500 just outside of Carletonville on Saturday night.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, “Paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the light motor vehicle, a sedan, lying in the veld some distance away from the road.

“Five occupants from the vehicle were found lying around the scene. One of the patients were found lying, dangling from a nearby small tree.

“On assessment, paramedics found that the patient in the tree and one other had sustained critical injuries while the three others had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Emergency personal immediately began their treatment of the patients as well as providing the critically injured patients with advanced life support.

“Once treated and immobilized, the patients were transported to Carletonville Hospital for urgent medical treatment.”

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
