Westonaria Police together with the Department of Community Safety organised a crime awareness drive in certain areas in Westonaria to inform the community.
The police clusters that participated were Carletonville, Wedela, Fochville and Khutsong. In addition to these police clusters, the Westonaria Traffic Police participated as well as the Victim Empowerment Center.
The campaign started in Thusenang informal settlement, officers then moved to Westonaria Borwa where the community gathered to listen to what the police had to say and also voiced their own concerns.
Police and all their allies were equipped with pamphlets to give to the community and informed them about which crimes happen in their areas and how to prevent being a victim of crime.
The campaign eventually ended in Westonaria CBD.
